The Story
Step into the role of a garden designer in Pollen, a beautiful and strategic tile-laying game where players work to cultivate a lush garden full of vibrant flowers to attract helpful pollinators. Your goal is to create the most flourishing garden and be the first to attract a variety of pollinators to help your flowers thrive.
The game begins with players planting flowers, placing garden cards next to at least one pollinator token. This initial step sets the stage for attracting pollinators, which you do by forming a line with a garden card of another player’s color. As you complete the line, you draw a pollinator token and place it beside the newly formed line, further expanding your garden’s possibilities.
Once a pollinator token is surrounded by flowers, it’s drawn to that player’s garden, and the corresponding flower cards are tallied for points. This dynamic system encourages players to think strategically about flower placement and pollinator attraction.
The game ends when all pollinator tokens have been placed, when any scoring token runs out, or when players have exhausted their garden cards. At that point, players tally their points, and the player with the most successful and beautiful garden is declared the winner.
