With time slipping away, your group must perform four crucial incantations to seal the gate—while staying one step ahead of the unseen enemy.

Unlike traditional social deduction games, The Gate of R’lyeh presents new challenges. The Cultists are not your primary threat—the relentless ticking of the clock is. Worse still, Cultists do not know each other, making their sabotage even more unpredictable. Revealing a Cultist does not remove them from play, ensuring that they remain a dangerous force even after exposure. Each player chooses from five strategic actions on their turn, including contributing to the incantation pool, researching, gambling for new cards, investigating hidden clues, or making accusations. But be cautious—falsely accusing an innocent Investigator will cost you precious time.

As desperation grows, the forbidden Necronomicon offers one last, risky chance to succeed, but failure means an instant and catastrophic end. Every character is equipped with a unique item that can aid or hinder the mission—depending on where their loyalties lie.
